  1. Prepare 2 cup granulated sugar

Instructions to make CANDY CANE SYRUP:
  1. Start by pouring sugar and water in a saucepan. Give it a stir. Turn on stove to medium high heat.
  2. Meanwhile unwrap 6-8 candy canes. Break them up into pieces. Add to pan. Keep stirring .when candy canes are dissolved. It will turn clear and take on a deep pink color.
  3. When it comes to a boil. Boil 2-3 minutes. Turn off heat. Alliw to cool. Pour syrup into a jar with a lid. I poured mine into half pint canning jars while hot so they would seal. You will only get 2 .

Clip the candy thermometer to the side of the pan and set the pan over high heat. Drizzle this sweet stuff over ice cream or stir into tea, coffee, or a cocktail for a subtle peppermint taste. Just make sure to heat it up slowly over medium heat and to stir it constantly. Candy canes are the perfect holiday treat! There's nothing quite better than gobbling one up on Christmas morning (and a few more throughout the day).
