  1. Take 1 kg Carrot
  2. Take 1/2 cup cream (available at home)
  3. Prepare 1/3 cup sugar
  4. Make ready 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  5. Make ready 1/4 cup chopped nuts (almond/ cashews)
  6. Make ready 2-3 tbsp ghee
  7. Make ready 2 drop red food colour (optional, but I didn't use)
Instructions to make Gajar ka halwa. (Desi gajar):
  1. Wash carrots and peel off it.
  2. Gret it in small greter. And put this all into a big pressure cooker.
  3. Add more than half sugar and cream. Mix well and cook on medium heat for 5-7 min.
  4. Cover the lid and do 1 whistle on slow flame. (Add colour if u want bright colour, after opening lid.) Remove lid and cook on slow flame till cream part / watery part burns.
  5. Now add sugar if required, cardsmom powder and ghee. Mix well and saute nicely for 3-4 min. It will turns transparent and nice aroma release from it.
  6. Remove from heat and cool down a little. Add nuts and mix well.
  7. Serve a sweetness of halwa, hot or cold.. depends on mood. :The
