The ingredients needed to make Koshambir salad:
  1. Get 1 cup Yellow moong lentil /dal -
  2. Get 1cup Cucumber cubes
  3. Make ready 1 cup Grated coconut -
  4. Prepare 1/2cup Tomato seedless - cubes
  5. Make ready 2 Chopped green chilli -
  6. Take 1tbsp Chopped coriander leaves -
  7. Prepare 1 tsp Lemon juice -
  8. Take to taste Salt -
  9. Prepare Tempering
  10. Make ready 1 tsp Oil -
  11. Make ready 1/2 tsp Black mustard seeds -
  12. Prepare 1 tsp Urad dal / lentil -
  13. Take 5-6 Curry leaves -
  14. Get 1 pinch Asafoetida /hing -
Instructions to make Koshambir salad:
  1. Soak the moong dal / lentil over night.
  2. Then drain moong dal / lentil completely.
  3. In a bowl add cucumber cubes,grated coconut,tomato cubes,soaked moong lentil / dal,green chilli,coriander leaves,salt and lemon juice and mix well.
  4. Heat oil in a pan.
  5. Add asafoetida,black mustard seeds,urad lentils / dal,curry leaves and tempered it.
